The Royal Wedding

Prince William and Catherine Middleton Are Married

With the entire world watching, Prince William and Catherine Middleton became husband and wife Friday morning – and the newly ennobled Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – at London's Westminster Abbey.

The wedding, pegged the greatest and grandest royal affair since Prince Charles and Princess Diana's 1981 nuptials, is the fairy-tale ending to a love story thrust into the spotlight last November when the couple first announced their engagement.

"I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth, to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse," William vowed. "For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, till death us do part."

With brother and best man Prince Harry, sporting the uniform of Captain of the Household Cavalry, by his side, William, 28, wearing the scarlet uniform of the Colonel of the Irish Guards, slipped a traditional Welsh gold wedding band on Middleton's finger, saying, "With this ring, I thee wed."

Wedding Colors: New Wedding Color Combos You've Never Seen

The Knot is featuring 25 new color combos never seen, here are a few we love:

Rust + Copper + Aqua

Good for: Vintage fall weddings
Tips for pulling it off: Prevent rust and copper details from looking muddy
by mixing in a bright, fresh color like aqua.

Clockwise from top left: Kamp Photography, Aruna B. Photography, Our Labor of Love, Mary Ellen Bartley, Kristen Edwards Photography, Flory Photo, Verité Boutique Photograhers, The Nichols, SMS Photography

Wine + Mauve + Blush

Good for: Vintage garden weddings

Tips for pulling it off: Dress up this feminine color palette with crystal or pearl details, or dress it down with rustic fabrics like burlap and faded handkerchiefs.

Clockwise from top left: Marie Labbancz Photography, Antonis Achilleos, Jen Kroll Photography, Leigh Miller Photography, Justin and Mary Marantz, Dan & Anne Almasy, Simon Yao Studio

Powder Blue and Plum

7 Rules for BBQ's

It's spring and most everyone is itching to get out and breathe a little fresh air. If you haven't already, you will begin to start craving a hot burger off of the grill and an Iced Tea to go along with it. Here are a few rules to keep in mind as you start off your BBQ season...

Rule No. 1: Club soda and salt.

You will spill sauce. You will spill mustard. Your wife will spill both on you. Do not panic. Just dab — not rub the stain — with some Schweppes, then grind some salt on there. When you get home, or if you must panic, pick up a stain-removal kit from club soda, usually that will hold you over. For those especially stain phobic, pick up a stain-removal kit from Madame Paulette. If it works for wedding dresses, it'll work on your polo shirt.

Rule No. 2: Wear nice jeans. And wipe on them.

But wear strong jeans. A raw-selvedge denim pair should do. Even if you paid $200 for them, a barbecue's as good an excuse for a breaking-in as you're likely to get. Because a good pair of jeans can withstand napkin duty, or your ass in the grass, or a slide into third base. If it can't, then why the hell did you pay so much?

Rule No. 3: It's okay to wear an apron.

But only when you're cooking. And make it a shop apron, because no one wants to kiss the cook. And because they're cheap, last forever, and include pockets. Try heavy cotton twill, canvas, or more denim. It's all at the hardware store.

Rule No. 4: It's not okay to wear sandals.

When you're cooking. Like European airliners, exposed toes do not get along well with burning ash. Nor with stampeding guests once you hit medium-rare. Not that you need to go with steel toes, exactly, but rubber ones look pretty good.

Rule No. 5: You must wear sunglasses.

Even if it's cloudy. A man can man a grill with ease when the breeze isn't blowing smoke up his eye sockets. Also: that look of consternation over the charred chicken stays wear it should — behind the lenses.

Rule No. 6: Febreze is your friend.

Much as we love cologne, it doesn't mask the smokey aroma so much as blend with it. Spray an odor neutralizer on the bottom half of your shirt before dessert instead. Alternatively, if anyone asks why you smell like fire, say: "Because I just made steak for thirty. What have you been doing?"

Rule No. 7: The chef may ask anyone to get him a beer.

Just remember to say please.

Summer Dishes

Celebrity event planner, Mindy Weiss suggested to Bridal Guide serving a gazpacho soup along with layered green, yellow and red tomatoes with sliced buffalo mozzarella cheese and basil. Is your mouth watering yet?

For something a little more generous, try a nice cut of fish, such as grilled tuna or halibut—two commonly served fish that are bound to do well with your guests. Or opt for fresh shellfish such as lobsters, oysters and shrimp. Weiss also recommends poached grilled chicken and grilled vegetables—what says summer more than some serious grill marks? Don’t forget you can incorporate fruit into your main course as well—try grilled peaches over chicken, or make a delicious peach salsa served over fish or poultry. Between courses try a trio of mango, raspberry and champagne sorbet to keep your guests cool and refreshed. Read More...

Perfect Pink Anniversary

Check out this amazing anniversary party that is just in time for Spring

As told by The Bridal Bar:
The event had a fun strong color palette of black, pink, and white, making for a wonderful visual effect. They also used feathers, bows, stripes and some amazing florals by Green Leaf Designs that picked up the color and style of the event perfectly with a slightly whimsical feel, which was perfect since Trista was going for a vintage French look with a modern kick.

The cake from Sweet Gems was truly a centerpiece, with a graphic black and white design and whimsical floral design, mirroring the theme throughout.

Beauty Tips from Bobbi Brown

Wedding Beauty Tips from Bobbi Brown

The celebrated makeup artist tells you how to get the look.

"If you are a bride that wants a romantic and timeless look on your wedding day, wear this classic red lip."

Get the look: "You don't want any redness in your complexion to compete with your red lip, so make sure to even out your skin with yellow-toned concealer and foundation. Keep your eye makeup subtle by using neutral, matte eye shadows and charcoal or black eye liner. Curl lashes and apply 2 to 3 coats of black mascara. Sweep a sandy pink blush across the apples of the cheek and be sure to blend the color back towards your hairline. Red lipstick requires precise application, so use a lip brush to line and fill in lips. To keep the color from feathering, trace your natural lip line with red lip pencil. For a high-shine look, top lips with clear lip gloss."

"This look is clean, fresh, and modern. The white shimmery eye and soft pink lip are great for the bride that wants a subtle, natural look."

Get the Look: "Start with a luminizing foundation and yellow-toned concealer to even out your skin and give it a subtle glow. Next, dust a white shimmer shadow all over your lid. Use a black gel liner to draw a thin, precise line across your upper lashline, then apply 2 to 3 coats of black mascara. Choose neutral pinks for your lips and cheeks. For the most natural-looking flush, apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks, blending back to your hairline and down. Use your fingers to press the lipstick onto your lips—this creates a soft, stained look."

"A warm sun-kissed look perfect for a bride with a destination wedding."

Get the Look: "Use bronzing powder to make sure that your face, neck and chest are the same color. Apply a shimmery highlighting powder on the high points of your cheekbones for a flattering glow. Sweep a golden bronze shadow on your lower lids, followed by a champagne gold shadow applied in the crease. Play up lips with a neutral beige lipstick and rosy gold lip gloss."

"Dewy skin, flushed coral cheeks and peachy-pink lips make this a picture perfect bridal look."

Get the Look: "Even out your complexion with a yellow-toned moisturizing foundation. Next, dust a golden bronzer on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Make cheeks pop with coral blush applied on the apples of the cheeks. Finish with a high shine lip gloss in the same hue as your blush."

Good Things for Spring Weddings {Honey Pot Favors}

Check out these lovely honey pots from beau coup

The best are the spring wedding favors that you guest will use again and again.

The worst thing is to spend your money on something for it to be thrown away because your guest have no use for it. Put some thought into them and your guest will be sure to use them again in the future.
